A man has died in a single-vehicle crash in the state's southern region.
About 10am today (Thursday 2 April 2026), emergency services were called to the Kings Highway, Braidwood, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended and found a vehicle had left the highway and crashed into a paddock.
The driver - a man believed to be aged in his early 80s - was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however; he died at the scene.
A passenger, a woman believed to be aged in her 70s, was airlifted to The Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.
Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
