Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - Jamberoo

A man has died after a single-vehicle crash in the Illawarra region this evening.

About 5.50pm (Wednesday 12 August 2026), emergency services were called to Jamberoo Mountain Road, Jamberoo, following reports of a truck crash.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District attended and found a truck had left the roadway.

A passenger inside the truck – a man believed to be aged in his 20s – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he could not be revived and died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver and a second passenger – both males aged in their 20s - were treated at the scene before being airlifted to St George Hospital.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
