Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - Katherine Region 5 April

The Northern Territory Police Force is responding to a fatal crash in the Katherine region.

Around 10pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received information a vehicle had collided with a tree 16km north of Katherine.

Police attended and found that the 19-year-old male driver and single occupant of the vehicle had died at the scene.

Both lanes of the Stuart Highway for about 500 metres have been blocked.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
