Police are responding to fatal crash - Ludmilla

Northern Territory Police are investigating after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Bagot Road last night.

Around 7pm, police received reports that a man and woman were struck by a vehicle within the outbound lanes of Bagot Road, near the intersection of Fitzner Drive.

Emergency services arrived on scene and conveyed both the man and woman to Royal Darwin Hospital. The man was later declared deceased. The woman remains in hospital receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Detectives from Major Crash Investigation Unit are continuing the investigation into the crash and working to formally identify the man and notify his next of kin.

Police are appealing to all motorists who travelled on Bagot Road through Ludmilla prior to 7pm who witnessed the pair in the area. The crash occurred near to McDonald's restaurant. Both are adults and of Aboriginal appearance. Anyone who saw the pedestrians on or crossing Bagot Road or who may have dash cam footage available are urged to contact police on 131 444.
