A man has died following a crash in the state's north west yesterday.
About 6:30pm yesterday (Saturday 18 July 2026), emergency services were called to the Oxley Highway, Somerton (approximately 40km north west of Tamworth), following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended and located three vehicles that had collided.
A 57-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.
A 69-year-old man was treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
The two occupants of the third vehicle, a 56-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were uninjured.
The Oxley Highway remains closed in both directions and diversions are in place. Motorists are advised to check www.livetraffic.com for updates.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
