Police are responding to fatal crash - Palmerston 8 July

Northern Territory Police are investigating after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Stuart Highway in Palmerston last night.

At 11:00pm, police received reports that a person was struck by a vehicle on the inbound lane of the Stuart Highway, just before the turnoff to Temple Terrace.

Emergency services arrived on scene and declared the man deceased.

The driver and occupants of the vehicle stopped at the scene and immediately called emergency services for assistance.

The Major Crash Investigation Unit are continuing the investigation into the crash and working to identify the male.

Police are appealing to any motorists who travelled on the Stuart Highway through Palmerston prior to 11.00pm to help identify how and why the person was on the road. Anyone who saw any pedestrians on or near the Stuart Highway in the vicinity to contact police on 131 444.
