Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - South Pambula

A man has died following a serious crash on the state's far south coast.

About 7pm (Friday 11 April 2025), emergency services were called to Mount Darragh Road, approximately 3 kilometres east of South Pambula, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

A male driver, believed to be in his 70s, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

The other driver, 77-year-old man, was taken to South East Regional Hospital Bega for mandatory testing and treatment of injuries.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District established a crime scene and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area as Mount Darragh Road remains closed. Traffic diversions are in place.
