Police are responding to serious crash on Huon Highway

Police are investigating a serious crash involving a yellow Triumph motorcycle and a white Isuzu truck this morning.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene on the Huon Highway, near Sandfly about 8:15am

Preliminary investigations indicate the motorcycle collided with the rear of the truck.

The 22-year-old man riding the motorcycle was taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

The 40-year-old man driving the truck was not physically injured.

The right-hand lane of the highway was closed for 3 hours to allow crash investigators to examine the scene and conduct inquiries. Police would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding.
