Police arrest five in Abbotsford as part of Operation Piscina

Detectives from the Melbourne Divisional Response Unit have arrested and charged five people in relation to Operation Piscina targeting drug trafficking in the inner city and western suburbs.

Police seized approximately 2.5kg of heroin and over $225,000 in cash yesterday morning following the execution of six search warrants in Abbotsford, Collingwood, St Albans, St Albans North and Richmond.

Investigators arrested six people, a 58-year-old man from Abbotsford, a 55-year-old man from Collingwood, a 63-year-old man from Collingwood, a 24-year-old man from St Albans, a 53-year-old man from Altona North and a 36-year-old woman from Altona North.

All are currently in police custody and assisting with enquiries.

They are expected to be charged with a number of drug related offences.
