Police arrest four after Geelong incident

Four people have been arrested following an alleged incident in Geelong overnight (3 May).

Police were patrolling the area when they spotted a car with allegedly stolen numberplates travelling along Moorabool Street about 11.45pm.

Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle however it failed to stop and continued onto Eastern Beach Road, allegedly travelling onto the wrong side of the street.

Police later located the vehicle again after it collided with another car at the intersection of Douglass Street and Minerva Road.

Four occupants were arrested at the scene.

The driver, a 21-year-old man of no fixed place of address, has been charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, evade police, traffic-related offences, theft, handle stolen goods, going equipped to steal, disqualified driving and bail-related offences.

He is expected to face a remand hearing today.

A 24-year-old Queenscliff man has been charged with drug-related offences and was bailed to appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court on 30 August.

A 21-year-old Warrnambool woman was issued with a caution in relation to drug offences.

A 22-year-old Belmont man was released pending further enquiries in relation to separate matters.

The occupants of the vehicle that was struck, a 29-year-old man and 24-year-old woman from Bell Park, were not injured.
