Police arrest four after robbery and police ramming in Prahran

Investigators have arrested four teens in relation to a robbery which occurred in Prahran this afternoon (25 April).

It is alleged a group of four youths assaulted the attendant of a service station on High Street and made demands for cash about 12.08pm.

The youths took off from the area in a stolen silver Honda civic.

Police attempted to intercept the car in nearby Larnook Street when the driver of the Honda rammed the police vehicle several times.

It's believed the occupants fled from the car and were chased by police through residential streets in the area.

One of the teenagers was immediately arrested by the officers of the damaged police vehicle.

Two of the youths were arrested in Lalbert Crescent as they allegedly attempted to gain access to a house by breaking a window.

The fourth youth was arrested on the corner of Dandenong Road and Lexton Grove after a lengthy foot chase.

A member of the public had attempted to restrain one of the youths by tackling him to the ground and ripping off his shirt.

A 17-year-old Hoppers Crossing male, 18-year-old Kurunjang man, 17-year-old North Melbourne male and a 19-year-old Footscray man are currently in police custody, assisting detectives with their enquiries.

One police officer was taken to hospital with minor injuries sustained during an arrest.
