Four people will face court after police tracked a stolen car through the southern suburbs last night.
About 6.15pm on Tuesday 6 January, police attempted to stop a white Tucson on Honeypot Road, Hackham West but the driver sped off and was not pursued.
The Tucson appeared to be travelling with a silver Holden sedan which police subsequently followed and stopped on Gates Road, Hackham.
Checks conducted on the Holden revealed that it was stolen and had false registration plates attached to it. Officers searched the car and located several boxes of perfumes.
These items were allegedly stolen from a break-in at a Morphett Vale pharmacy yesterday where a white Tucson was seen leaving the scene.
A 37-year-old man from Grange and a 40-year-old man from Semaphore Park were arrested and charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and theft. They were bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 16 March.
Southern District officers then attended and searched a home at Hackham. Police located further stolen boxed perfumes as well as numerous pairs of sunglasses and a quantity of GHB.
The sunglasses were allegedly stolen from a break-in at another Morphett Vale business on Friday 2 January. A 27-year-old woman from the home was arrested and charged with theft and trafficking a controlled drug. She was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 12 March.
Police continued to work on locating the Tucson and found it abandoned on Roycroft Close, Noarlunga Downs. PD Duke and his handler searched the vicinity spotting a man running on Barcelona Road. He was quickly apprehended and linked to the Tucson.
The Tucson was impounded after further stolen property was located inside.
A 32-year-old man from Noarlunga Downs was charged with serious criminal trespass and theft. He was refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today.
