Police arrest four after two for one

Police have arrested four youths following an aggravated burglary in Sanctuary Lakes this morning.

Officers were called to Sanctuary Lakes Boulevard about 3.40am after a resident reported that their house had been broken into and their Audi stolen about 3.25am.

Ground units and the Air Wing were quickly on scene and the Air Wing observed the Audi and a black Kia in the vicinity.

Both vehicles got on the Princes Highway and were observed to be travelling in convoy up and down the freeway.

Officers were able to ascertain that the Kia had been stolen in Burwood on Sunday evening.

Police were able to successfully deploy tyre deflation devices on both vehicles near Duncans Road.

The two occupants of the Kia got into the Audi and the car sped off.

It travelled towards the city, through the tunnel and onto the M1 before the vehicle was dumped near Burke Road.

Police were quickly on scene and arrested four male youths who are currently assisting police with their enquires.
