Police arrest four for drug trafficking

Four people will face court today charged with drug offences following an incident at Hackham West yesterday.

About 5.15pm Sunday 22 January police were called to Haven Way after reports of a disturbance. While police were in the street three people, believed to have been involved in the initial disturbance, arrived in the street in a vehicle.

Checks revealed one of the passengers; a 31-year-old Goolwa man, had an outstanding warrant. He was placed under arrest and in his possession police allegedly located ammunition and an illicit substance suspected to be Fantasy.

Police had cause to search the vehicle where they allegedly located a large quantity of Fantasy. The driver, a 31-year-old Blackwood woman and second passenger, a 32-year-old Hackham West, were both arrested.

A nearby house was searched with a number of items of evidence seized. Following an investigation, a home in Blackwood was also searched with an amount of Fantasy located. A 27-year-old Christies Beach woman was located at this address and arrested.

-32-year-old Hackham West woman was charged with drug trafficking.

-31-year-old Goolwa man was charged with drug trafficking, possess prescribed equipment and possessing ammunition without a licence.

-31-year-old Blackwood woman has been charged with drug trafficking.

-27-year-old Christies Beach woman has been charged with drug trafficking and possess prescription drug.

They were all refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach magistrates Court today.
