Police arrest man after assault - Central West PD

A man will face court after allegedly assaulting a shop assistant and threatening officers in the state's Central West.

About 7.45am today (Monday 20 April 2020), a man attempted to enter a supermarket during senior citizens shopping hour at Forbes. When he was stopped, it was alleged that he pushed past the shop assistant.

The man left the supermarket and was located a short time later by police, where it is alleged that he threatened officers with a pitchfork.

A Taser was deployed, and the 37-year-old was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station.

He was charged with common assault; two counts of armed with intent commit indictable offence; three counts of assault officer in execution of duty; and affray.

The man was bail refused to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Monday 20 April 2020).
