Police arrest man after Burton shooting, South Australia

A man has been arrested following a shooting incident at Burton this morning.

Just before midnight on Saturday 16 February, police and emergency services were called to a house in Alberta Drive, after reports of a fight between a group of people.

One man was allegedly shot in the chest, and he was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment. He left the hospital several hours later.

It was initially suspected that another person may have also been injured by the firearm, but no other victims have been identified or have contacted police.

A 38-year-old Burton man was arrested by detectives, and will face numerous charges relating to the shooting.

Investigations are continuing, and police wish to reassure the community that this is not believed to be a random incident.
