Police arrest man after Campbelltown assault, South Australia

Police have arrested a man following an incident at Campbelltown.

Just before 5pm on Monday 15 July, a man was driving along Coronation Street after an alleged traffic altercation with a red Kia hatchback. The victim reported the driver of the Kia produced what he believed to be a handgun before driving off. No threats were made and no shots were fired.

Police attended an address in Davoren Park just after 7pm where they located the wanted Kia and the driver. A search of the Kia uncovered a toy handgun.

The 34-year-old of no fixed address has been charged with aggravated assault, breach of bail and unlawful possession after he was found in possession of a credit card which did not belong to him. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The victim was not physically injured.
