Police arrest man after crashing BMW into stobie pole and running away, South Australia

Man arrested after crashing a BMW into a stobie pole and running away at Woodville West.

Just after 10pm tonight (Thursday 11 July), police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Trimmer Parade and Cardiff Street after a black BMW sedan had crashed into a stobie pole. Other motorists stopped to assist the driver, however the driver ran away from the scene. Members of the public chased the male and were able to give accurate information as to where the man was last seen when police arrived.

Police cordoned the area, and with the assistance of PD Marley, the man was located hiding under a car in a Beatrice Street driveway.

The man a 36-year-old from Royal Park was arrested and treated at the scene for minor injuries. He is expected to charged with numerous offences later in the morning.
