Police arrest man after firearms investigation at Port Kembla

A licensed firearms dealer has been arrested as part of an ongoing firearms investigation.

Just after 9am today (Wednesday 10 April 2019), detectives from the State Crime Command's Drug and Firearms Squad arrested a 46-year-old man at a business on Wentworth Street, Port Kembla.

He has been taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

Detectives subsequently executed a crime scene warrant at the Port Kembla business and are in the process of seizing a number of firearms held by the business.

As the operation remains ongoing, no further information is available at this time.
