Police arrest man after firearms seizure - Port Melbourne

Detectives from the Echo Taskforce have arresed a man after a number of firearms were seized on Wednesday in Port Melbourne as part of a series of warrants across Melbourne.

The 30-year-old Carrum Downs man was arrested this morning and will be charged with the following:

• Possess a Traffickable Quantity of Firearms

• Possess Unregistered Handgun x 3

• Possess Unregistered Longarm

• Possess Category E Firearm (Sub machine gun)

• Possess Registered Longarm

• Possess Ammunition without a licence

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.

Six firearms and ammunition were seized from a commercial property in Port Melbourne on 22 January during a series of warrants linked to the Mongols Outlaw Motor Cycle Gang.
