Police arrest man after Kelso robbery

Police have arrested one man following an alleged aggravated robbery in the state's Central Tablelands earlier this week.

About 9.50pm Tuesday 19 November 2019, a 33-year-old man was walking east on the Learmonth Park footpath, adjacent to the Great Western Highway at Kelso, when he was approached by two men.

Police were told one of the men grabbed the 33-year-old by his shirt, threatening him and demanding property.

The men allegedly stole the victim's mobile phone and were last seen running north across Learmonth Park.

On Thursday 21 November 2019, a 40-year-old man was arrested in Bathurst for a fraud matter.

Upon searching the man, police located property linked to the alleged robbery in Kelso. The man was released pending further inquiries.

On Friday 22 November 2019, police returned to a unit in Bathurst and spoke to the man again, locating more items connected to the alleged Kelso incident.

The 40-year-old man was arrested again and charged with aggravated robbery.

He was refused bail to appear in Bathurst Local Court today (Saturday 23 November 2019).

Inquiries continue to locate the second man.
