Police arrest man after Malvern East incident

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man following an alleged incident in Malvern East earlier this month.

Police received a report two 10-year-old boys were approached by an unknown man in a Holden utility on Foster Road about 3.35pm on Thursday 5 September.

Investigators have been told the man pulled up and spoke to one of the boys before driving away.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Detectives travelled to Wangaratta yesterday and arrested a 41-year-old man as part of the investigation.

The man, who is from the Wangaratta area, was interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
