Police arrest man after Moorabbin collision involving stolen vehicle

Police have arrested a man following an aggravated burglary in Clayton South and a two-vehicle collision in Moorabbin this morning.

It is understood a man stole a black Mitsubishi 380, and other items including a wallet and bank cards, from a property on Evergreen Boulevard in Clayton South in the early hours of this morning.

The allegedly stolen Mitsubishi appears to have lost control and collided with a white utility at the intersection of South Road and Railway Crescent about 10.30am, before crashing into a business.

The driver, and sole occupant of the Mitsubishi, is believed to have fled the scene on foot and was arrested by police a short distance away.

He was taken to hospital with minor injuries and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances around the incidents.
