Police Arrest Man After Police Operation At Dubbo

A man has been arrested following a police operation in the State's west this morning.

About 6.45am today (Thursday 26 February 2026), emergency services were called to a business on Victoria Street, Dubbo, regarding a concern for welfare.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attempted to speak with a 20-year-old man.

The man, allegedly armed with a firearm, refused to exit the business.

Following a coordinated response from specialist officers, about 9.30am, the man exited the business and was arrested without further incident.

The man was uninjured and taken to hospital for assessment.

All roads in the area have reopened and there is no ongoing risk to the community.
