Police arrest man after shooting two people with a gel blaster, South Australia

A man has been arrested after assaulting staff at a service station and supermarket at St Agnes this afternoon.

It will be alleged, just after 12.00pm today (Sunday 18 August); a man entered a petrol station on North East Road at St Agnes and discharged a gel blaster, hitting a staff member in the neck. Luckily the staff member wasn't physically injured.

The male has then gone to a nearby supermarket where he has again discharged the same gel blaster, this time hitting a staff member in the right shoulder. Again luckily the staff member wasn't physically injured.

Police searched the area and located a 22-year-old man from Blair Athol matching the description given by witnesses on Dale Street at Ridgehaven in possession of a gel blaster. The man was arrested without incident and taken to the Holden Hill Police station where he was charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

The man has been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates court on 24 September.
