Police arrest man after St Albans fatal stabbing

Homicide Squad detectives have arrested a man following a fatal stabbing in St Albans last week.

A 26-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in Mernda this afternoon.

Today's arrest follows an incident on 30 December where a man was found injured in the vicinity of St Albans Road, between Princess and Percy Streets, about 10.50pm.

It's alleged the 32-year-old St Albans man was stabbed following an altercation with several males.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.
