Police Arrest Man After Stabbing After Crash At Neath

A man has been arrested after a driver was stabbed following a crash in the state's Hunter region this morning.

About 4.40am today (Thursday 19 June 2025), officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District commenced an investigation after a 40-year-old man attended Cessnock Police Station with stab wounds.

Police were told the man was driving a Holden sedan on Cessnock Road, Neath when it collided with a Subaru sedan.

Following the crash a passenger in the Subaru sedan allegedly stabbed the man in the leg.

The 40-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to a hospital for further treatment.

A short time later, police were called to Cessnock Road, Neath, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

On arrival, police located the Subaru – involved in the earlier incident – and arrested a 34-year-old man at the scene before taking him to John Hunter Hospital under police guard.

Investigations continue into the incident.
