Police arrest man after stealing car at Hackham, South Australia

A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing a car earlier tonight at Hackham.

Just before 6.30pm on Thursday 18 March, the victim was sitting in his Camry sedan parked near the intersection of Cottage Lane and Gates Road, when a white van stopped in front. A man got out of the van and threatened the victim with an unknown weapon, before dragging him out of the sedan and driving off with it. The victim was not physically injured.

Patrols converged on the area and located the Camry a short time later abandoned in the Old Noarlunga National Park near Churchill Road.

Just after 8.30pm, police attended a house in Woodcroft where they arrested a 25-year-old Woodcroft man. He is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery and refused bail to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court tomorrow.
