Police arrest man after suspicious fire in Reservoir

A man has been arrested by police following a suspicious house fire in Reservoir overnight.

Emergency services were called after two residents of the Kinsale Street home, were woken by smoke alarms about 11.45pm.

They noticed smoke and flames and made their way outside where they found another one of the residents.

Local police and detectives attended the scene and spoke to the residents before a 38-year-old man was arrested.

He was interviewed by police and has been released pending further enquiries.

The area has been cordoned off and is under police guard.

It is expected detectives and an arson chemist will attend the scene today.
