A man has been arrested following the death of a woman in Thomson tonight.
Police were called to an address on The Walk just after 9.30pm following reports of an assault.
On arrival a woman, who is yet to be formally identified, was located in a critical condition and CPR was commenced but she died at the scene.
A man was arrested at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
It's believed the man and woman are known to each other and police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the death at this stage.
Homicide Squad detectives are attending and the exact circumstances are being investigated.
