Police arrest man after warrant executed in Rye

Police from Southern Metro Divisional Response Unit have arrested a man following a warrant executed on Wednesday.

A search warrant was executed at a property on Browns Road, Rye where police allegedly located two firearms, two taser devices, ammunition and a quantity of methylamphetamine.

A Rye man was arrested at the premises and was charged with two counts of prohibited person possess firearm, trafficking methylamphetamine, possession of ammunition and five counts of possess a prohibited weapon without authorisation.

The 49-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Frankston Magistrates' Court on 16 August.
