Police arrest man following firearm theft in Frankston

Detectives from Frankston Crime Investigation Unit have arrested a Carrum man following the alleged theft of a firearm from a gun store in Frankston.

The theft allegedly occurred at the Playne Street store about 12pm on Saturday 9 February.

The 30-year-old man has been charged with burglary, theft and prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

He is expected to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court later this morning (Feb 23).
