Police arrest man for attempted murder 27 April

A man will appear in court charged with two counts of attempted murder after he allegedly assaulted two people in northern suburbs yesterday afternoon.

About 3.50pm on Wednesday 26 April, police and emergency services were called to a Smithfield Plains address after reports two people had been assaulted.

Police located a 66-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman both with serious injuries. The victims were taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where they are being treated.

Following an investigation, Northern District Detectives attended a property at Salisbury North and arrested a 32-year-old man from Northfield. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder and aggravated serious criminal trespass. He did not apply for bail and will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Thursday 27 April.

Police advise the community this was not a random incident and all parties are known to each other.
