Melbourne Highway Patrol officers have arrested a man for driving dangerously on the wrong side of the road through numerous northern suburbs including Williamstown and Richmond this morning.
Officers received numerous calls from the public about a white Mitsubishi Outlander driving erratically and at speed in the opposite direction of travel on the Westgate Freeway and on Punt Road about 1.30am.
With the assistance of the Airwing and patrolling units the Mitsubishi was located on Church Street in Richmond about 2am.
A 29-year-old Norlane man was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
