A 34-year-old man was arrested after allegedly reversing a stolen tow truck into a police divisional van in Laverton North early this morning.
Williamstown officers spotted a tow truck on the side of Boundary Road and established it was stolen just after 3am.
The driver who was asleep at the wheel attempted to drive away and stop sticks were deployed.
The truck came to a stop about 150 metres away on Boundary Road before reversing into the police divisional van.
No one was injured.
The driver, a Sunshine West man was arrested and taken to hospital where he is under police guard.
