Police arrest man over Norwood hotel robbery, South Australia

A man has been arrested over a hotel robbery at Norwood that occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A man wearing a balaclava threatened staff in the gaming room of the Britannia Hotel, Kensington Road, Norwood about 1.30am on Thursday 21 January and made off with an amount of cash.

There were no physical injuries and no weapon was sighted in the ordeal.

Detectives from Serious and Organised Crime Branch, with the assistance of STAR Group officers and detectives from Eastern, Western and Southern Districts, attended an address at Grange last night, Thursday 21 January, and arrested a man.

It will be alleged the 31-year-old man of no fixed address was found with a quantity of methamphetamine and some of the proceeds of the robbery.

He was charged with aggravated robbery, trafficking in a controlled drug and breach of bail. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
