Police Arrest Man Over Police Assault In CBD

A man was arrested in Adelaide overnight after he allegedly assaulted a police officer.

At about 1am on Sunday 12 April, police were patrolling on Hindley Street when they were called to assist security staff with a patron at a nearby nightclub.

Police spoke with an 18‑year‑old man from Seaford who was allegedly causing a disturbance and subsequently escorted him from the Adelaide CBD Declared Public Precinct. It will be alleged that during this time, the man turned and spat in the face of a police officer.

The man was arrested and charged with assaulting a prescribed emergency worker. He will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 1 June.
