Police Arrest Man Over South Plympton Servo Robbery

A man was arrested after allegedly robbing a South Plympton service station last night.

Just before 10pm on Thursday 1 January, it will be alleged a man entered the servo on Marion Road, South Plympton armed with a hammer, threatened the console operator and ran off with cash and cigarettes.

The staff member was not physically injured during the robbery.

Police arrived within minutes and spotted the suspect running west across Marion Road. Patrols cordoned off the area and located the suspect in Wilson Street, South Plympton a short time later.

An 18-year-old Whyalla Norrie man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
