Police arrest men after drugs located

Two men have been arrested after Australian Border Force intercepted an inbound package addressed to South Australia containing drugs.

At 11.50am on Friday 18 March members of Serious and Organised Crime Branch arrested two men as the attempted to collect 2.1 kg of MDMA in the form of 4000 ecstasy tablets from an Australia Post Outlet. The men's homes were searched and an insecure firearm was located.

Both men aged 28 and 34 from Prospect and Flagstaff Hill were charged with attempted trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug. The 34-year-old man was also charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing a firearm without licence and contravening code of practice in relation to the storage of a firearm.

Both men have been refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday 21 March.
