Police arrest pair over home invasion

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and charged two youths following a home invasion in Sunshine.

Police allege a property on Stonemark Street was broken into by two offenders about 5am on Wednesday February 3.

Once inside the pair allegedly assaulted the residents and forced the victims to drive their blue Volkswagen Golf several times to an automatic teller machine on Hampshire Road to withdraw cash.

The victims were released just before 7am and the car was found dumped at Dickson and Withers streets, in Sunshine.

Police arrested a 16-year-old St Albans boy and a 17-year-old Sunbury boy later that day in St Albans.

The pair have been charged with home invasion, aggravated car jacking, kidnapping, false imprisonment, armed robbery and other assault related charges and were remanded to appear at a Children's Court today.
