Police arrest teens after Abbotsford death

Police have arrested two teenage boys this afternoon as part of an investigation into a death in Abbotsford last night.

The pair, who were subject to a public appeal earlier today, were arrested without incident just outside of Learmonth about 2.25pm.

The 15-year-old and 14-year-old will now be interviewed by police.

The arrests follow an incident in Abbotsford last night where a 41-year-old Abbotsford woman was killed.

Emergency services were called to a Stafford Street address about 11.10pm on 5 April following reports a woman had been seriously injured.

The woman was conveyed to hospital however passed away shortly after as a result of her injuries.

A 13-year-old boy who had also been at the residence was not physically injured.

At this time the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still being determined.

Investigators believe the teens left the property in a white Toyota RAV 4 before emergency services arrived.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed that in the St Kilda and Elwood areas between 11pm last night and 7.30am this morning when the Toyota was located on Havelock Street, St Kilda.

Anyone in those areas or who may have been travelling through that area around that time frame is also urged to check their CCTV and dash-cam footage.
