Police arrest three after pursuit across Melbourne

Southern Metro Region Crime Team detectives expect to charge three teenagers following the theft of three cars and a subsequent pursuit at high speeds from Hastings to Geelong this morning.

The teenagers were allegedly seen getting out of a stolen Audi and getting into a blue BMW sedan, also allegedly stolen, in Hasting just after 10am.

The Audi was one of two cars reported stolen from an aggravated burglary on Lemon Road in Balwyn North overnight while the BMW was reported stolen from a Braeside car dealer yesterday evening.

The driver of the BMW refused to stop when police attempted to intercept him and sped off, travelling on the Monash Freeway, the Westgate Freeway and the Princes Freeway before being intercepted on the Geelong Ring Road at Fyansford at 11.15am.

The driver and his two occupants, a 14-year-old Dandenong boy, a 17-year-old Cranbourne boy and a 17-year-old Cranbourne West girl, were arrested at the scene.

Several police units and the Police Air Wing were involved in the incident which resulted in the arrest of the teenagers and no harm to other motorists or police members.
