Police arrest three after robbery in Melbourne

Police arrested three men this morning in relation to a robbery which occurred in Melbourne last month.

It is alleged a group of three men and two women approached the victim and a friend who were walking along Elizabeth Street about 1am on 4 March.

Investigators believe one of the men attacked the victim and stole his cigarettes before the two other men approached and attempted to steal his jewellery.

It is believed the three men assaulted the victim before he managed to get away from the group.

Police executed three search warrants this morning and several arrests were made in relation to the incident.

An 18-year-old man from Coburg has been charged with attempted robbery and bailed to attend Melbourne Magistrate's Court on 11 July.

A 15-year-old boy from Bundoora has been charged with attempted robbery and bailed to attend Children's Court at a later date.

A 15-year-old boy from Craigieburn has been charged with robbery and will appear at Children's Court later today.
