Police arrest three in drugs and knives seized in Preston

Fawkner Divisional Response Unit have arrested three men and seized illicit drugs and weapons in Preston as part of an investigation into drug trafficking.

Detectives executed search warrants in Preston and Melbourne on Monday this week with support from the Melbourne Divisional Response Unit.

They subsequently located flick knives and samurai swords, and quantities of illicit drugs including:

  • Over 1,200 tablets of prescription medication
  • Over 300 grams of cannabis
  • 22 MDMA tablets
  • 15 grams of MDMA powder
  • 22 grams of methyl amphetamine
  • 700ml of 1.4 butanediol
  • Small quantities of ketamine, mushrooms, heroin, and other illicit substances.

Two men both from Preston have since been charged with a range of offences, including trafficking and possession of drugs, possessing prohibited weapon and other drug and weapon offences.

Both men have been bailed to appear at the Heidelberg Magistrates' Court. The 40-year-old man will appear on 19 June and the 32-year-old will appear on 21 June.

Another man from Preston, aged 44-years-old, was issued with a caution in relation to cannabis possession.
