Police arrest three teens after pursuit in Blacktown

Police have arrested three teenagers following the alleged pursuit of a stolen vehicle through Blacktown this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 2.40pm today (Tuesday 13 March 2018), police observed three males in a Holden Commodore station wagon on Sackville Street.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command Proactive Crime Team activated their warning lights and sirens and attempted to stop the Holden, which allegedly accelerated away.

A pursuit commenced and the officers followed the vehicle along Lawson Street.

As the Holden attempted to complete a left-hand turn into Stephen Street, it struck a wall head on.

A 17-year-old male was arrested a short time later while a 16-year-old male was arrested in the front yard of a home in Mort Street.

A second 17-year-old male was arrested with the assistance of a police dog from under a home in Mort Street.

The three teenagers were taken to Blacktown Police Station.

A 16-year-old male was charged with police pursuit – not stop, drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, having goods in custody, resist arrest and two outstanding warrants.

The two 17-year-old males were charged with be carried in conveyance.

The teenagers were refused bail and will appear at a children’s court tomorrow (Wednesday 14 March 2018).
