Police arrest two after break-in and pursuit in southern suburbs, South Australia

Two men who allegedly broke into a home at Warradale and stole a car have been arrested following a police pursuit at Morphett Vale.

Just before 2pm on Monday 1 July, two men allegedly broke into a home on Sunshine Avenue at Warradale, grabbed a set of car keys and drove off in a 2012 white Hyundai Accent.

A short time later the stolen car was spotted by police on States Road Morphett Vale and then road spiked by patrols near Wheatsheaf Road.

The stolen Hyundai continue for a short distance until it collided with parked car in Vintage Avenue at Hackham.

Both men ran from the stolen car, one man was quickly arrested by patrols, but the second man jumped fences with a police dog patrol called in to assist in the search.

Just before 3pm police dog Jax located the second man that went to ground.

A 27-year-old man from Adelaide and a 21-year-old man from Morphett Vale will both be charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and two counts of illegal use of a motor vehicle, after a second stolen car was found dumped at Warradale. The Adelaide man was also charged with drive dangerously to evade police and an active warrant.

Both men have been treated in the Noarlunga Hospital for minor injuries from the incident. They have been refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court tomorrow.
