Police arrest two after Brompton hold up, South Australia

A man and woman will face court following an aggravated robbery at Brompton late last night.

Just before midnight Thursday 7 March, patrols were called to Coglin Street after reports a man threatened staff with a meat cleaver before jumping the counter stealing cash.

Thankfully the victim was not physically injured.

The man allegedly ran north on Coglin Street, dumping his clothing and the meat cleaver. Crime Scene Investigators attended and located a wallet and mobile phone with the dumped clothing.

The dumped items lead detectives to a West Croydon, cordons were set up in the area. During this time patrols stopped a Taxi within the cordon and located the suspect and a woman. They were both searched and the woman was in possession of cash believed has been stolen from the earlier robbery.

The woman a 27-year-old from Lower Mitcham is expected to be charged with theft and receiving.

The man a 26-year-old from West Croydon is currently being interviewed and will be charged with aggravated robbery.
