Armed Crime Squad detectives arrested two men overnight following a non-fatal shooting in Hoppers Crossing on Wednesday.
With assistance from the Special Operations Group, a 38-year-old Eynesbury man was arrested in Eynesbury at 19.30.
A 27-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was then arrested by the SOG at his home address just before 9pm.
Two search warrants were subsequently executed at residential addresses in Eynesbury and Hoppers Crossing, where investigators seized a stolen vehicle, false number plates and edged weapons.
The 38-year-old Eynesbury man was charged with theft of motor vehicle and displaying cloned plates.
He was bailed to appear at Werribee Magistrates' Court on 11 August.
The 27-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was released pending further enquiries.
Yesterday's activity follows an incident on Wednesday, 9 April when police were called to reports of an injured man in the vicinity of Durham Crescent shortly after 9am.
Upon arrival police were unable to locate any injured persons.
Police were later notified a 31-year-old Werribee man had presented to a hospital in Werribee with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body about 12pm.
Investigators believe the parties involved were known to each other.
The investigation remains ongoing.
