Police Arrest Two After Unmarked Police Car Rammed

Police have arrested a man and a woman after a police car was rammed in Blackburn last night.

Officers in an unmarked car were patrolling Whitehorse Road about 9.50pm on 29 June when they observed a black Holden Commodore ute speeding along Whitehorse Road.

They have followed the Commodore to the rear car park of a nearby hotel and watched the ute cut a number of laps around the car park before stopping.

Officers pulled up behind the ute and activated their lights.

It is alleged the driver of the ute immediately reversed into the front of the police car and continued accelerating, causing the wheels of the Holden to spin.

The officers got out of their car and attempted to gain entry into the Commodore.

The driver though better of his actions and surrendered to police.

The driver, a 37-year-old man from Parkville and a 27-year-old woman from Blackburn North were arrested at the scene.

Further enquires by police have revealed that the ute was a stolen vehicle.

The pair are assisting police with their enquires.
