Police arrest two for vehicle crime

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two men as part of an ongoing investigation into vehicle crime in the eastern region.

A 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were arrested at the intersection of Springvale Road and Ferntree Gully Road about 11.30am on Tuesday 21 February.

The pair were questioned in relation to recent burglaries, thefts of motor cars and thefts in Ashburton, Rowville, Narre Warren, Ivanhoe, Eaglemont, Kew, Mulgrave, Camberwell, Balwyn North and Elsternwick.

The 27-year-old man was charged with 33 offences including burglary, theft of motor vehicle, theft and attempted theft of motor car.

The 20-year-old man was charged with 20 offences including theft of motor vehicle, theft and obtain property be deception.

Both men were remanded.

Investigators continue to make enquires and wish to locate a bronze Land Rover with registration BVV-975 which was stolen from Elsternwick on 5 February.
